Interdisciplinary Space Cowboy
To me, my art making, my existence, my research are all a constant question of why we were set on the path we are on, if that path is even good for us, and how to build a future that creates space for the totality of our human desire and existence.
I like to attack such work with a sense of play and ferocity. To take dance, blow it up then frantically put the pieces back together.
To play an impossible game of pick-up sticks.
To know that there is no one way to do anything and the speed at which we must put together the fragments of our existence is something to be explored, researched, digested, and danced about.
To understand that the society we exist in is a glass ceiling to be broken through again and again and again.
To break the rules over and over again until we find ourselves on top. On top of our own world, of our own existence, of our own dance-making. To look down at the beautiful mess we made and sigh in disbelief of the steps taken to get there.
